# Get Started

2. To use the Demo Mode with 2 ETH of play money, open up <https://t.me/starbot_demo_bot> or search for "starbot\_demo\_bot" in Telegram
3. To use Starbot on Ethereum, open up <https://t.me/starbotprobot> or search for "starbotprobot" in Telegram
4. Press Start
5. Starbot will create a wallet for you

Make sure to save your private key and mnemonic phrase and keep these somewhere safe!&#x20;

Starbot cannot recover these for you if you lose them, which means you can lose access to your funds! Conversely, if other people find these codes, they could steal your funds.

💡 Safety tip: We recommend deleting the message with your private key information and seed phrase from your Telegram chat with Starbot, and setting your Telegram up to [automatically delete messages](https://telegram.org/blog/autodelete-inv2). It’s also a good idea to add 2 Step Authentication to your Telegram account, so that other people can’t access it easily.

# Add ETH

Every token that you trade on Starbot uses Ethereum (“ETH”) as the primary trading currency. That's why you will need to send some ETH to this wallet to get started with Starbot. The easiest way to do so is from a centralized exchange (CEX).

If you haven't got an exchange account yet, you can open one at [Binance](https://binance.com/), [Coinbase](https://www.coinbase.com/), [Kraken](https://www.kraken.com/), [Bybit](https://www.bybit.com/) and many others, depending on your location. Once you've opened a trading account and deposited funds, buy some ETH (Ethereum) on the exchange. You should be able to do this on your exchange's Trade or Convert page.

After buying ETH, go to the Withdraw (or Transfer) page of your exchange account and select your ETH (Ethereum).

Make sure to select Ethereum as the destination blockchain. Now you'll need to paste your Starbot wallet address!

Copy the wallet address, open up the exchange again, and paste your Starbot wallet address. Double check if this is the correct address. Now follow the required steps to confirm your withdrawal, and the exchange will send you a confirmation.

**That's it!** Your ETH is now on its way to your Starbot wallet. After some time, you can check your [Portfolio](/walkthrough/portfolio)to see when your ETH has been successfully deposited.

# Send ETH

Every good trader takes profits!

Starbot's Send ETH feature is essential for securing your gains. You can Send ETH to your favorite exchange, hardware wallet, or to any other wallet address.

The Send ETH feature can be found on the Portfolio page.

## How to Send ETH

1. Specify the amount to send. You can specify this in number of ETH (0.1 ETH, 2 E, etc), or in USD value (50 usd, $500, etc), or as a percentage of your ETH balance (10%, 100 pct, etc).
2. The amount and unit mentioned above must be followed **or** preceded by a valid Ethereum wallet address. Make sure to double check if the destination address is correct!
3. You can also easily send ETH between your Starbot wallets, as you'll be presented with a convenient list. Click on your desired destination wallet to select it.

## Examples

1e 0x123abc... - Withdraws 1 ETH to the specified address.

$500 to 0x123abc... - Withdraws $500 worth of ETH to the specified address.

0x123abc... 25% - Withdraws 25% of your ETH balance to the specified address.

## Stay Safe

To reiterate, make sure to double check your destination Ethereum address before confirming your transaction. Transactions are irreversible! They are also subject to Ethereum gas fees.

Starbot team members will never ask you to send your ETH somewhere!\

# Manage Wallets

In the Manage Wallets section, you can create multiple wallets and manage them.

Here, you can:

# Import For Viewing

If you're holding your STAR tokens in another wallet, such as a hardware wallet, you can use Starbot's Import For Viewing feature to still receive revenue share and greater affiliate rewards.

1. Note the exact amount of STAR requested (it's always under 1 STAR!)
2. Send it from your other wallet to the specified wallet
3. Copy the transaction hash from the send transaction (you should be able to find this in your other wallet)
4. Then click Confirm Transfer
5. Now paste the transaction hash from your previous transaction

And you're done! Your view-only wallet should now be visible for viewing.

When does Starbot ignore/hide tokens?

* If token balance = 0
* If token value < $1
* If liquidity < $500

This is done in order to hide unsellable and scam tokens from your Portfolio, keeping everything organized.

# Trade Terminal

The Starbot Trade Terminal is where all your trading needs are met.

To start trading, simply paste a token address in your chat with Starbot, or forward a message containing a token address to it and Starbot will auto-detect the address. You can find addresses for your favorite ERC-20 (Ethereum) tokens from various sources, such as [www.coingecko.com](https://www.coingecko.com), [www.dextools.io](https://www.dextools.io), Telegram groups, X tweets, etc.

Once you've pasted a token address in your chat with Starbot, you should see a message that looks like this:

2. You should then see the following messages:

When you get the "*Transaction SUCCESS*" message, that means you have successfully bought or sold this token! Check your portfolio to see your updated balance:

## Chart

Make sure to use Starbot's Chart feature to check out the latest chart for this token. This can be done right from within your Telegram app!

You can create your custom affiliate link for a token with the Share button in the Trade Terminal! This link will be tied to your account, so all affiliate commission fees from users you've referred, will be distributed to you.

# Token Transfer

### Transfer

With the Transfer feature in the Trade Terminal, you can transfer your selected token to another wallet. This feature is particularly useful if you're using a hardware wallet to store your most valuable tokens.

Make sure to double check if your destination wallet address is correct and compatible with this token - for example: *don't send unlisted tokens to a centralized exchange!*

You will also be presented with a list of your own Starbot wallets, so you can transfer your tokens between your wallets with ease.

This is most likely due to a honeypot - A scam token where the token owner has maliciously disabled the transfer function in a way that allows users to buy the token, but not sell them

# STAR Tiers

STAR holders enjoy revenue share based on their tier, commission fees from their referrals, and other attractive perks!

By increasing your STAR Token holdings and achieving higher STAR Tiers, you receive revenue share bonuses, leading up to a **4X Revenue Share Bonus** for our most prestigious **Diamond Tier**.

Getting a higher STAR Tier is also essential for Affiliates, as you will earn a commission of up to 50% of trading fees from Starbot users who used your referral link.

Two massive perks in one!

## STAR Commanders

*STAR Commanders* are heroes of the community. On an individual basis, some users *may* be granted the STAR Commander title and advance to the **Diamond Tier**, even without owning the required amount of tokens. This will be based on achieving a certain number of referrals and/or trading a certain amount of volume using Starbot. For the purposes of rev share, the proportion a STAR Commander receives is still dependent on the amount of STAR they actually hold, though they do get the Diamond Tier bonus.

# Affiliates

Starbot Affiliates receive commission from the 1% trading fees coming from their referrals, **before** these fees are sent to the Revenue Share Pool. Being an Affiliate is rewarding!

Affiliates can receive **up to 50%** of the trading fees from **each user** they've referred, depending on their [STAR Tiers](/rewards/star-tiers). Everyone can create a custom referral link which does **not** show your wallet address.

## Examples

<summary>Example 1 (Bronze)</summary>

Harry finds out about Starbot and buys a small bag of STAR tokens, which places him in the Bronze STAR Tier.

He then invites his friend to sign up to Starbot with his affiliate link. His friend transacts $1000 using Starbot.

A 1% fee is charged on each transaction made with Starbot, so 1% of $1000 is $10. Since Bronze STAR holders receive 25% of fees, Harry gets $2.50 in commission.

<summary>Example 2 (Platinum)</summary>

Seeing the potential, Harry accumulates STAR tokens and reaches the Platinum STAR Tier.

He then invites 10 of his X followers to sign up. They transact $10,000 each using Starbot, leading up to a total of $100,000 in volume.

1% of $100,000 is $1000, and since Platinum STAR holders receive 37.5% of fees, Harry gets $375 in commission.

<summary>Example 3 (Diamond)</summary>

Eventually, Harry becomes a KOL and starts his own trading group on Telegram. He also accumulates enough STAR tokens for the Diamond STAR Tier.

Harry endorses Starbot and invites 100 crypto traders from his group to start using it. They transact $25,000 each using Starbot, leading up to a total of $2,500,000 in volume.

That's $25,000 in fees, and since Diamond STAR holders receive 50% of fees, Harry receives $12,500 in commission.

*It's not possible for us to predict how much volume will be transacted using Starbot, and how much of that will be shared with STAR Affiliates as commission. This depends on various factors outside of our control, such as our STAR Affiliates' efforts to onboard active Starbot users.*


# Revenue Share

Holding **any** amount of STAR tokens will qualify you for revenue share. By increasing your STAR Token holdings and achieving higher [STAR Tiers](/rewards/star-tiers), you will get greater revenue share bonuses.\

This will lead up to a **4X Revenue Share Bonus** for our Diamond [STAR Tiers](/rewards/star-tiers), as well as greater commission fees for [Affiliates](/rewards/affiliates).

## Revenue Share Bonus

As shown in the [STAR Tiers](/rewards/star-tiers) infographic, STAR Tier holders receive a bonus to their revenue share allocation, from **NO** bonus for Bronze Tier holders - to a whopping **4X** bonus for Diamond Tier holders.

> *The bonus acts as a **multiplier*** for a STAR holder's relative proportion of the Revenue Share pool.

To further illustrate how this bonus system works, we will now give you some examples.

## Examples

*Imagine the following scenario:*

On a particular day, 1M USD in volume is traded using Starbot. A 1% fee is charged on each trade made with Starbot, so 1% of 1M is $10K. [Affiliates](/rewards/affiliates) first get their cut, let's say it's around $2K (20%) in total\*. That means $8K remains after commission fees.

Of this remaining amount, $2K (25%) goes to the Starbot project and team funding, while **$6K** (75%) goes to the **Revenue Share Pool**.

The following examples illustrate how this $6K could potentially be distributed among STAR holders:

# Claim

**Starbot Revenue Share Rewards**

If you hold the [STAR Token](/rewards/star-token), here’s everything you need to know to claim your rewards ⭐️

**Key Details**

Rewards will be distributed on the 1st of each month. Make sure to claim your rewards **before the 1st of each month**. Payouts will typically occur overnight following the claim period to minimize gas costs.

**Minimum Payout**

Payouts for amounts less than $5 will not be issued immediately but will accumulate over time until the threshold is met.

**STAR Tiers**

Import all your wallets holding STAR into [Starbot](https://t.me/starbotprobot) to ensure they count towards [STAR Tiers](/rewards/star-tiers). You can use our new **view-only import process** if you prefer not to grant full access or if your STAR is in a hardware wallet.

**How to import view-only**

* Open up [Starbot in Telegram](https://t.me/starbotprobot)
* Select Wallets, then Import
* Select Import for Viewing
* Send the exact amount of STAR to the specified wallet address using your wallet (Metamask, Trust Wallet, etc)
* Find the transaction hash for this transaction and copy it
* Press Confirm Transfer and enter the transaction hash
* After your transaction is successful, your wallet address will be imported and your STAR tokens will count towards revenue share

**Pro Rata**

Only STAR tokens in wallets you have imported into Starbot will be counted for your pro rata share of the revenue. We will use the average monthly balance across all imported wallets, not just the balance at the time of rewards calculation. Transferring STAR between wallets can affect your monthly holding unless both wallets are imported into the bot.

**Rewards Payout**

You can select the wallet where you want to receive your rewards payouts, or get them in your default wallet. Different wallets can be set for referral and revenue share payouts if you wish. Note that view-only wallets cannot be used to receive reward payouts.

# Security

## How Starbot uses and protects your data

1. 💡 **By data, we mean**: Inputted wallet information such as private key, your wallet name, wallet address. User data such as custom settings, and username. Required session information, such as "you last clicked buy" or "waiting for user to enter a wallet name".
2. 🕵️‍♂️ **Data classification**: All stored data is classed as restricted (as opposed to classified). That means it's subject to encryption at rest and in transit, as well as tight access control.
3. 🔑 **Data at rest**: Wallet private keys are encrypted and stored at rest. The service has its own unique authentication key to encrypt/decrypt such that if anyone were able to access the database data, it would not result in a compromise of wallet data. This data is not emitted to logs.
4. 🚚 **Data in transit**: We use SSL connections where data is transmitted: Database, Telegram API, RPC nodes. Wallet private keys are only ever sent back/forth to the database (The initial wallet generation private key is sent through Telegram, and we encourage the user to delete the one message that contains this private key)
5. 🖥️ **Access control**: We restrict access to service servers and databases to only the developers that need access. Data is not easily accessible: Devs have no direct access to the service authentication key, therefore they cannot access wallet private keys directly.

<summary>I have enough ETH in my wallet but Starbot does not let me trade. Why is that?</summary>

This is usually due to gas issues, and it may mean that you actually do **not** have enough ETH in your wallet.

A transaction usually takes about 250k "gas units". Sometimes, it can take up to 350k gas units, depending on how busy it gets. This means that you need to have enough ETH in your wallet so that Starbot can spend up to 350k gas units, even if it does not actually do so!

To keep it short and simple: It is necessary to have a bit of extra ETH in your wallet.
